Default Shocked looking at my old water pump

I had a litlle trouble pulling it out. I had dieslegeeks kit to remove it, which helped. When I pulled it out it looked like this.
You guys and gals think i broke it more than what it was while removing it?

Mine looked the same way when mine was removed. - I replaced mine with the timing belt. - You just like myself are VERY lucky. - That could have caused some over heating....and other problems.

I have too many miles I'm at 145,000. I honestly dont think anything else was replaced besides the belt by previous owners. My gauge was acting up so I did the T-statnow I feel much better about how my maintenance is coming along. I must admit that the second time doing the TB was much easier I did it in like 7 hrs, the last time it took me like 14 hrs.I couldn't figure out how to get the engine support on, last timeI succesfully tried for 2 hrs this time like 15 min. It was a buddies car.
One thing that I can admit after all the nicks, scrapes, grime, and grease I absolutely LOVE MY CAR!
I do believe you all now where I'm coming from

"guys I know its late and your ready to go home for the weekend, but we have to get the design for the water pump done... we need to decide on a design, and its going to take a few hours to do..." "how about we just make it out of plasticand we can call it a day?!" "brilliant!! good thinking! well that was easy enough, see you all monday!"

Mine came out in manymore pieces than that. About a quarter of the impeller was left on after I pryed it out. I know I broke mine trying to get it out though.
