That is why I took mine off. It sounds great but it really is not a filter, just a thin sponge. When I went on other forums some said that they began to burn oil after a while because of the lack of filtration.

I'm curious how it'd hold up if I oil it. I run a UNI foam filter on the quad. Similar foams as the middle and inner foams of the HKS. Don't really see what the problem would be. Biggest deal is knowing how to properly oil a filter.

 

idk i just remember on the supra forums a bunch of them tested all the intakes on the market and the hks was the worst....its JUST TRASH ya it sounds nice but who the hell cares(any open element is gonna sound nice)...its filter rate is horrible and flow isnt all that great either... they tested the new AEM filter and its the best....beats K&N and the rest of them in both filtering and flow....best thing is NO OIL EVER!!!!!

 

Foam flows best, from everything I've ever used, thats what I've learned. If I do switch at some point, I'll go with a UNI filter.

 

Matt.....if i can find the thread you will see the TRUE results....these guys have no reason to be biased not trying to sell anything....Supra owners simply want the best of everything(sure you have a few ricers out there f8cking those cars up,but so do we,) this new AEM filter is all the rage on that forum now and everybody ditched thier K&N and love it...i love mine too...except they shipped me the white one and i thought i was gettting the grey one...its all good tho..

 

i have the aem on the sri of my car. I would get the aem again on a tt too.
