Silver Headlight matting
Do you guys know if its possible to just buy the new styling (2005-2006) headlight matting that is silver instead of black. I see a lot of people baking their headlights and taking off the relfector and spray painting them, but im not gonna even start to do that cuz i know ill never get it right haha.

well that does give me a little bit more confidence, i did take a look a urs in a photo album and i was impressed!!!! ive check out Fotki or watever they call it and saw a few step by step pics of it, i was just worried that i wouldnt seal the light back right, then id have that hazy, leaky look whenever it got wet. But man, that red on ur ride,,,now that is nice!! how long did it take to do both the lights???

I did mine over a weekend, I didn't want to rush.
FRI PM: pull bumper remove lights. 1-2 hrs
SAT: remove lenses (oven method) reflector delete, paint work. 3-4hrs
SUNDAY: reassembly 1-2 hrs
I did have to pull them out again and reseal perimeter with silicone b/c I omitted that step the first time and got minor fogging in one. Trouble free for a year and a half now.
It can be done in a day if its warm enough for the paint/bondo to dry fast.

Click the link in my sig. I just wrote an article with tips how to do this. I used to do people's for money.
It takes a few times until you get them looking perfect but the thing is even if they don't turn out that great once you put them back in the headlight lenses you won't see almost any imperfections.
