Smoked Corner Lenses

Smoked Corner Lenses
Ok I've doing some research and ho\ave found several DIY's for installing the corner lenses around the web but none on this site.
I was wondering if anyone here has done the swap or if you have a preferred DIY that I should follow.
I've never taken apart a headlight but it doesn't look like that hard of a process just time consuming. The only thing I am a little leery about is when I comes back to putting the cover back on. Is there around of the black sealant left on once you have taken it apart or would I need more of it to reseal the headlight? Also one other thing is that once I have come to the point of reassembling the headlight how do I avoid mlisture in the housing.
I love the look once the amber markers are taken out of the headlight.

All the processes should be about the same: remover bumper, remover head light, remove clips, bake in over on a sheet pan with a damp cloth underneath at 350deg until you can pull the housing off or you can try with a heat gun (oven is easier). You cut the back off the reflector and use some bond to fill in it's holes the just pull apart to remove the turn signal cover. Either use tint spray on that or replace with a clear lends and amber bulb. To reassemble, either put back in oven as is, or I prefer to remove old sealant and add in new to prevent moisture the soften in oven and then squeeze housing back on and your done

350 is too high. Housing can 'melt'. 170 for about 10 minutes, remove and begin the separation process. Return to oven for additional 5 minute periods as the adhesive cools/hardens quicker than you'd like.
edit: here's mikephillips diy. probably the best on the web. 99 pics plus text.

Most don't need it. I did mine about 2 yrs ago and have had no leaking issues.
When pulling the lights apart, do it slowly and carefully. The adhesive streaches a bit, like taffy, and then pulls back to its original position. try your best not to pull them apart at any angle, that way the adhesive returns to its original position rather than left or right.
I also found that the heat gun was very useful for "final" adjustments on the rebuild. If you've got a glob in one area, the heat gun can provide specific heat to that area, softening it, so the lens goes back together smoothly. It's globs in one area and no adhesive in another (because it's glob to the left or right) that causes poor fitment and leaks.
