Photographers caught the 2009 Audi TT-RS roadster prototype spinning its wheels in the snow.

Like the TT-RS coupe, the roadster will receive a new turbocharged version of parent company Volkswagen's 2.5-liter five-cylinder said to deliver near 365 horsepower.

As with the Audi TTS, the TT-RS will place its power to the ground via either a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed version of Audi's S tronic double-clutch gearbox, with a Haldex-style four-wheel-drive system, which uses a multiplate clutch instead of Audi's more traditional Torsen-based arrangement, apportioning drive to all four wheels.

We spend Thousands of $$$ and Hundreds of Hours trying to gain a few extra horsepower - and someone can walk into a dealership - put their money down - and drive away with 365 horsepower!!!

 

it looks the same as the '08... how do you know that's an '09?

i own an '08, and in certain diagonal angles the car dimensions may look different.

 

That is true but you can do the same with the older TT's for a fraction of the cost. The new TT's are selling in the high 30's...imagine what these will cost! If given the choice.....I would buy it if I had the dough! I do hear what you are saying tho. My buddy felt the same way with his Cobra after they came out with the new one.

 

The high 30's????? ****!! Here in Cali they start at 50!!!!! Rediculous mark up on these cars....I wish I had that kinda green, or else I'd get one.

 

I read somewhere that this car will be 70K+ !!! So I think our hundreds of hours are worth it
