Squeal from low to mid range rpms
Need some advice guys. I've been tolerating a very light squeal for a few months. It started after I chipped the car. I can make the squeal happen when I'm in gear going from low revs to mid range revs. It dissipates as the car goes into 5 or 6k rpms. I just assume it's a belt that's making the noise, but I'm really not sure why it happens or if it's bad for the car. Could it be a bad DV?
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
FYI, the car has 41,000 miles.

Thanks auditech79. I'm not quite that capable with working on the car yet. But, as long as it's not hurting the car, I'll be OK until I can get some help looking at it.
sounds like the serpentine belt?
does it go away after 2000 RPM?
that was the issue i had- squeal at low RPMs. looked at the s-belt and sure enough it was replacement time.

scoTT la rock,
actually the noise starts at about 2 or 3k and continues through about 6k rpms. i'll definitely have a look at the s-belt.
thanks for all the advice guys.
