Default Temp gauge problem

Hello,
I just changed the valve cover gasket on my '03 1.8 TT Roadster- and immediately afterwards the Temp gauge stopped working. Makes no sense to me since the two are seemingly unrelated, and I disconnected no wiring (except the coil packs), etc. just some hoses near the corner of the valve cover.
Does anyone have a diagram of how many temp sensors there are, and where they're located?
Any help at all on trouble-shooting this issue would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

My guess is the water temp sensor has either gotten loose or just needs to be replaced. im sorry, I thought I had one in the garage. I counld have given you the part number. Its an easy fix and its located on the drivers side of the enginge. Its not difficult to change. Im pretty sure all the normal part stores would have it. In the meantime Ill look for a part # for you. Its also on youtube.

Hey thanks,
I did some research and looked at a couple youtube vids also. I ended up ordering a new ETC (?) sensor- what you're talking about :-D Should be here tomorrow. You're right, didn't look to difficult to swap out, and not an expensive part either...
Thanks again.

Super. Interestingly, I changed that sensor out as part of replacing a part that was leaking nearby. 6mos later that new sensor had to be replaced. So much for preventive maintenance. Lol
