I never saw this guy or his car before, it's pretty old news that I guess I missed. Thought I'd share anyway...took me a while to figure out, but apparently a guy on AW swapped in a 2.2L Eurospec engine which essentially uses the TDI block and some custom internals to up the displacement.

These threads show just how AudiWorld is. Some guy builds a BT 2.2 (can you imagine BT with an extra nearly half liter to spool the turbo???) and it gets only a handful of comments[>:] If someone came up with a convenient device for storing your dentures in the TT it would get more buzz over there.

Eurospec engines:

Odd that I've been to that site but never stumbled accross those ^

He was just on vortex looking for real advice (yesterday).

He actually just had the head lift on him and blew a head gasket. He wanted info on intake manifolds and porting head. But since he bought the 2.2 he did the easy thing again, got a small port intake manifold [:@] Could of gained another 20-30whp if he went big port.

I wouldnt trust eurospec after the stuff i have heard, i would rather just go with a 2.1with a TDI block/crank so i dont have to use their 100mm cranks. Honestly,a 2L like i am FINALLY getting finished is plenty for fast spool and still be able to rev out far enough to make the most out of a turbo. Not to mention still having 9.25:1 helps

Guys on AW were criticizing them too^ citing numerous horror stories.

Cranks, cams, and a few other parts breaking or not fitting right. Just best to go OEM crank and be done with it.

This guy sent me some pm's on vortex this morning and is now going to port the intake and get a big port RMR intake manifold. Glad to see him get the best thing for his setup.
