Default RE: Timing Belt info

hey, I am new to this forum and since yesterday a proud owner of an Audi TT quattro. Reading the posts in this forum I got kind of worried, my Audi has 81k, after reading the posts I immediatly called my car garage and got a quote on replacing the timing belt. They have the timing belt on hand but I also want to replace the tensioners. Now me being a female and not knowing much about cars I was wondering how many tensioners will I need? Also I would appreciate if anyone could tell me which oil would be best for the car???

first off always start your own post the tensioner was an early problem and 2000 cars had the upgraded version by Gates so service history is important or receipts, there is 2 tensioners one on the serpentine belt ( auxiliary ) and the timing belt tensioner

ok you got a point there as far as starting my own post, I ordered one timing belt tensioner so you're saying I should get the serpentine belt tensioner also? What kind of oil do you put in yours?? Thanks for the input

I got everything replaced on mine.
Feels great to not have to worry anymore they replaced the belt the tensioners the water pump and the termistat.

Cars ready for many more miles

They also misquoted me and i got it all done for 750 with parts when most other shops wanted almost 1000 for it.

haha
