Default TIP and exhaust gains, quality question

I'm hoping to get an idea of the gains I will see if I run a Blueflame with a TIP like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...spagenameZWDVW

I may go with a Forge TIP, but this seems very similar and 1/2 the price, and I believe anything silicone will be an improvement over stock. I think I've seen these discussed over on Fourtitude, but I cant find the thread.

I just have the stock exhaust with a (dont flame me, I was new to TTs and it was shiny) Modshack intake, Forge FMIC, and Uni flash.

The catback should gain you just under 10whp when matched with a dp. By itself its closer to 5whp. The tip wont do much for you unless you have a problem with your stock tip collapsing.

I don't think it collapses, I haven't had any loss of power or anything like that. I was just hoping to prevent it from happening. That pipe on Fourtitude is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...35968242QQrdZ1

It looks better and has better upclose shots.

Also, I've seen some metal ones on eBay too. Does anybody run those? It seems like spool up would be a lot louder, and wouldn't rip or melt or anything

i'd save your TIP money and add it towards your DP fund.

DP + Blueflame > TIP + Blueflame

cool, maybe the TIP blurb in the TT info for newbies should be edited then? or will my stock TIP eventually fail?

^ well the 225 TIP is prone to collapsing. as the 180's have the cast iron TIPs. if you must... you can upgrade the TIP, that is if you're having problems with your current TIP

Its aluminium, not iron. With a proper intake, the tip shouldnt collapse. If you dont have a problem, i would do like above and get a dp sooner

I can hear/feel mine collapsing right around the classic 5k, so I grabbed a new one, I havent received/installed it yet, and may even wait until I can get the dp+cat back and do it all at once. They arent too bad cost wise really in comparison to alot of other mods, but yeah why fix what isnt broken at this point?

this is true

I guess the thought of it collapsing and rendering my car undriveable is unsettling to me since its my DD. Like I said, I havent had any indication of problems yet... so I guess it can wait

I dont think it will just collapse and choke and die on you, and if you arent under boost,/up in thoose rpms no reason it should even start to coolapse. I feel ya with wanting to make sure nothing can go wrong though haha :-) But, until you have some indication there might be, save your scrilla for maintenance, gas, insurance, or towards other mods
