Tranfering chip

im selling my chip but my question is, can i simply exchange ecu's or can a shop switch them?

It depends. Which year you have determines which IMMO you have, and I think it also depends whether you are piggy backed like my early model GIAC or reflashed. In my case, I bought a giac programmed ecu, and tried installing it, but since the ecu didnt match the dash and they key, it was immobilized. I sent my originial ecu in to tyrolsport along with the physical chip from the giac'd ecu, and they removed my IMMO and soldered in the socket for the GIAC program, and things have been lovely.

immobilizer, different year TT's have different version immobilizers. What is your chip, what is your car?

I have the apr 93 octane with stock program. In a 2002 audi tt quattro 1.8.
