Default Tranny (gear) oil change question

Changed out the tranny oil on my 6 speed Q. I went with Royal Purple MaxGear 75W90. I also drained the bevel box and cleaned the magnetic drain. Didn't see any fill for the bevel box; am I correct that the box is connected to the trans (fluid exchanges back and forth)? If so, should one re-check the trans fluid level after re-filling and driving a bit (would the trans level drop after fluid transfers to the bevel box)? The box only holds about a cup or so.

Results after a few miles, shifts do seem smoother (especially the 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd), less notchyness and the syncho feels better.

you did it right, its not like the auto tranny where you have to fill then run the engine then refill again

Thanks for the quick reply. Thought I'd check before I re-installed the @%#%#% belly pan. Only headache with thejob was getting the fill plug off without a 14mm hex. Used a double-nutted 3/8 bolt .

metal shavings are normal and mostly from when it was new and running in ( the magnet is doing its job )
