which TT?
Hi all,
total newbie here looking to get my first TT (and Audi for that matter)
I found 1 2001 TT 225HP w/ 52K miles locally. The car was in an accident before and the front bumper was replaced. I have my mechanic looked at it and he said there are some stuffs that needs to be replaced (power steering rack was leaking, found oil residue on top of the engine, CV boot needs to be replaced) and with all these, i am hoping to bargain the car to something more reasonable for these repairs.
However, I stumble onto this one last night
2004 TT 3.2 V6 DSG with almost 2K worth of stereo equipment installed. The car has just under 29K miles on it. So far the carfax looks clean, no accidents and such. The only catch is the car is out at Phoenix AZ and I am located at Washington DC. I am trying to get someone out there to look at the car before I fly out there.
now..if you were me, which car would you pick? and why?

i would pass on both.
Dont want to have to fix the 225 unless there is no frame damage or you can do the other fixes cheap/yourself. And it takes much more money to get a v6 to the power levels you can get the 225 with far less money.

Yeah, what Cincy said. My advice would be to wait for the right one that was local to you. I test drove 7 TTs before I decided on the one I have now. Depending on what work was done to them each one drove differently. Plus after the first one I thought I was in love, then I drove more and realized the first one was just a tired example (hmmm, this kind of sounds like my love life
).
).
I for one would love a 3.2 just for the simple fact that you can do a twin turbo conversion and yes, it would cost more but to me it would be more than worth it. It being in AZ would be cool, after having it checked out by a local dealer before you flew out there, road trip! That's just me though it's your money and your call. [sm=signs003.gif]
