No i wish that was the problem... its been doing it before i got the filter...... GOnna go to my local tuner shop for them to do a once over...

 

exactly the same issue I got on my 2001 tt fwd, I just posted something very alike a couple of days ago, the difference is that mine has a rattling sound when starts loosing power, and it feels terrible, imagine this, last time I wanted to race vs a car (I WONT SAY THE BRAND OR MODEL CUZ IM ALREADY TOO ASHAMED) with 97 HP only, and HE WOON!! come on!! but a turbo mechanic came by to my house and took a look, he told me that its probably the turbo, so I said to him that I didnt have any black or white smoke, he told me that since my engine has only about 60,000 miles the oil will passed all the way to the head gasket but the engine wont burn it and produce the smoke since the engine is not old or has any other issues, Im not to sure about this because now that I read it belive me I started to smell BS but, Im gonna have to take the car to the audi dealer before throwing some money that maybe is just not needed. If you have a solution please let me know, I have tried what the other guys answered on my thread but nothiung has work. Tnx.

 

riiiight. so, the turbo leaks oil, and its making its way to the engine... but it doesn't burn because the engine doesn't have high miles.

Yeap pretty much is what this mechanic said, but like I said thats all BS and Im still looking for an answer, a friend of mine has a vagcom on his laptop Im waiting for saturday to hook my car up to his laptop and se if the car throws a few codes. I would let you know any news.

 

My car when its cold the exhaust is a little gray, what does that mean? i have 194k on my motor is idles at like 8 it doesnt knock or anything bad just when im driving it runs bad. i took apart my dp and its fine i cleaned off both ends and made everything smooth.... i love my car ust want it to run forever....

 

Ok, I have never cleaned the DV, how do I do it? is there a DIY thread for this?
