TT Wheel fitment Question

TT Wheel fitment Question
So I hear it's real easy to screw up the TTQ transmission if your wheels/tires aren't perfect.
I've searched the forum a little and can't find anything as in depth and idiot-proof as I'm looking for.
I'd like to upgrade to an 18" wheel... but I have no clue about offsets, adapters, or pretty much anything I would probably need to know prior to chosing a new set of wheels for my car. Anyone have any advice or useful links on wheel fitment for the TTQC/225?
I'm not looking to buy yet, just want to get knowledgable on the topic so I'm better equipped to choose when the time comes.

RE: TT Wheel fitment Question
As long as you keep the rotating mass the same on each wheel, there will be no adverse effect to the quattro system.
Just keep all 4 tires the same brand/size when you change them, and you'll be fine.

RE: TT Wheel fitment Question
Yeah, no offset rim sizes, keep your rolling radius the same on all 4 corners.

About halfway down is a rim/tire size caculator, good reference to have, bookmark it.
If you want to keep your speedo accurate, this will tell you what size tire to use for what size rim.

RE: TT Wheel fitment Question
Keep the circumference within 5% difference between the front and rear and you'll be fine. Use the tire calculator linked above if you are thinking about using a staggered setup.

RE: TT Wheel fitment Question
I love British spellings of certain words. Colour is kind of cool. I had a teacher in elementary school that had an old english way of pronouncing the word schedule (it sounded like sshh-edule). For some reason I can't stand looking at the word tyre.
