Default Tuning Chip

Hey guys-

I'm looking into a tuning chip and I found this one on ebay that seems okay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-AU...mZ370159447519

I good friend of mine said that they problem those those is that you have to run a stock ECU. Im not sure what that means or what disadvantage that brings. He referred me here:
http://www.ap-specialties.com/parts.php?id=giac

these a much more expensive and being the college student that I am I'd like to save a buck. Any opinions? Or information on having to run on a stock ECU?

I've only read good things about InMotion Tuning chips. All the threads about the company on VWVortex talk about how the chips are very comparable to REVO/APR/GIAC/Unitronics for half the price. The only bad thing is the website needs a better design.

Default InMotion tune

I got the InMotion tune last fall. I could NOT be happier. It was a world of difference.

Thanks for the advice! Did you have to ship something to them? And if so, was it a quick transaction?

The transaction? I sent it next day, and they sent it back next day. So it was a 2 day transaction. I'm pretty sure it was $250.00. I got the 93 tune, and my only mods are intake and forge valve (well, and spark plugs, new and regapped for the chip tune).

I took my module out, packaged it, sent it to them, and they sent it back. The hardest part was taking the module out of the case it was in - nothing a dremel with cutoff wheel couldn't handle.

Kudos to InMotion for a good product that saved me hundreds $$$.
