Default Turbo/Mod setup & yielded boost

Last week I chipped my basically stock 2002 180Q (k03s) with GIAC and afterwards noticed that it would hit 18-19lbs of boost but immediatly drop to 14-15lbs. This would repeat three times before it would settle at the lower range. Previously, with the REVO trial the turbo would sustain 18-20 without any problems. With that, I installed a MBC and bypassed the n75. With it tightened all the way in (the lowest amount) I am now running 20-21lbs of boost consistantly. Other than chipping I've installed the better NGK's and a drop in K&N.

I'm wondering what others are running in regards to Turbo/Mod setup and what boost your pushing?

your boost changed from tuners and they both react differntly with differnt n75's. But the jump and drop isa boost spike, that is about as good as a ko3 can do sometimes. But as you can probably claim a mbc is a more consistant method of regulating boost.

For me see sig.

Be careful running 21psi on a KO3, that thing is making alot of heat at that psi.

its not there for very long, remember its a ko3.There is still plenty of power in that turbo up to 20-22psi and once you get past thatyouare makingmore heat and the only thing to bring down the intake temps would bea water/meth injection in conjuction w/ a nice intercooler.

dumb question.. but what about one of those cryo2 or what ever its called, that pumps C02, for intercooler misting.. is it as effective as the water/meth, any advantages or disadvantages?

water/meth injection >co2

there are so many added benifiets from running water meth over co2

increase octane: more boost'/timing
reduced detenation
less cost
and tons more

Remember it's a k03s and from my understanding you can get a little extra out of it. None the less I never runn all out for an extended period of time.

Yeah, it's awesome to say the least! Before, it seemed like no matter what I did the power wasn't there but now it's waiting on demand. My friend at work has a modified MiniS and from 3rd on the interstate he was seeing my tail lights rather quickly. I hope to dyno it sometime next month.
