Default Velocity stack

So I was wondering in since I already have an intake, Im just going to buy the air intake duct and put a velocity stack in front of it. Just like a homemade VTA from modshack.Does anyone have any questions about it? Should I do this or not? Also when modshack first came out with the VTA it came with an insulator instead of the canister. Can I do that as well? Im sure I can get it from lowe's or home depot? Just let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Agreed. Intake provides minimal performance gains-- mostly it'stheimprovement in throttle feel and louder DV sounds that an intake mod will help.

intake will help, get chipped first. if you're ultra-low-budget and not going to shell out the bucks to chip, do the "diode mod" ... do a search for it on the forums. Intake is a great upgrade-- if you asked any of the modders on here if they had stock intake, most would look at you like you were crazy.

slight HP gains stock, more chipped. Better sound, but careful if you're doing it in your garage-- you don't want to be sucking in hot air, so do the insulation and heat shielding properly.

Good luck!

you could always do the airbox mod as well. bore at the bottom of the air box and put a k&n drop-in.
