for the last generation tt what was the motor options , i know the 1.8 t ( which is 225 hp i belive ) and what were the others?

 

There are two 1.8T motors.

180hp and 225hp.

Also a 3.2L Vr6 with 250hp stock, but limited tuning compared to the turbo motors.

Make sure you know what you are buying, as dealers WILL sell you a 180 and tell you it's a 225.

 

so how do you tell the difference, is in the vin number or another way ?

 

180 = 1 tail pipe + 5 speed

225 = 2 tail pipes + 6 speed

Yep. 225's are also all Quattro.

180's are either FWD or Quattro.

 

ok so 2 tail pipes 6 speed manual and quattro thats pretty simple.

 

The 225 has a big aluminum "L" pipe running around the upper left side of the engine as well.

225 - 2 side mount intercoolers

180 - 1 side mount intercooler, on pass side.
