what will a 4bar fpr do for me?
Now i will probably get flamed er something along those lines but i need a little help... Im a little shaky as to what a 4bar does / will do for me? I see on the modshack site you need one with a **** but then i see people without a **** and 4bar... im just confused as to what it would do for me
They allow your fuel system to supply extra fuel needed for higher boost levels. FPR stands for fuel pressure regulator, the stock one is 3 bar (43.5psi). The higher rated FPR allows more fuel pressure and thus more fuel delivery. You need it if you're running really high PSI on a chip or MBC (say 17+ psi).
The stock 3 bar and injectors will handle what is in the stock turbos effiency range (<24psi). The 4bar is mainly needed to raise the rating on your injectors. The 317cc will become ~380cc at 4bar and 380cc to ~440cc.
The reason the **** needs the 4bar is because of the larger housing used resulting in reading more air through the maf. Stock maf and stock injectors dont need a 4bar unless you use a diode and run higher boost.

There are 1000's of people using boost controllers. He just made stages to make it sound like upgrades/important
<= Thinks stage 1 and 2 are stupid and 3 is overpriced.

to be honest i have the full modshack mods and they work quite well. sorry cincy i know we had this discussion bout the ****.
the car does run rich (at first) for like 50 km, my buddy could smell it lol on the highway. but after about 50 km or so and a few cranks later.
i have a 180QC and it actually feels stronger, most noticebly in the bottom end (100% noticable) and also in the top end just seems liek the car breathes a little better. Beware, fuel economy does go down a tad, depends how heavy you are on your foot. not too noticeble but its true, also the computer will lie to you on teh gas milage. you have to adjust it on the VAG com. i personally just ignore it and look at the needle indicator.
So there is a lil review on that lol
BTW APR sells you a bigger MAF Housing with their turbo kits along with a larger FPR. so by that token a larger **** is obviously needed to produce greater power.
but, thats just my opinion. different things work for different folks. and at the end of the day, if u are both pullign the same power, doesnt matter how you got there at least you are there
