Default What would my car do?

So I just want to experiance my car FWD( No I dont want to just go out and by a fwd car). So I was thinking can I remove the AWD system like the driveshaft, transfer case and rear axles. Will it affect my car? Would it drive like a normal FWD car TT? What else would I have to do? Can I just swap out my tranny for a 1.8t gt 5 speed trany for the longer gears? Please I want constructive criticsim, no Smart a$$ jokes. I just wanted to feel around the subject. Thanks

except for the weight you could just pull the fuse for the haldex. thats pretty close to FWD.

why are you looking to go from haldex to fwd? most people think the other way.

Well I want to try something different. Because our systems are not true AWD what is the purpose? I drove my friends fwd tt and it handles amazing. In regards with the fuse, my tranny would mess up over a period of time. As far as the weight goes, how much do you think it would take off? I want to be able to have a tt225 fwd. To have that power and just go. The fwd is fine for autocross as well. I really dont go that fast

I think you should doRWD instead.

I think either way might involve disabling the ESP?

We've gone over these types of questions before, and the short answer is, trade for a FWD TT, it'll cost probably as much to get the system working sans rear drive, and it'll be a lot less headache.

Plus, how can you say a FWD TT handles better than quattro? The TT is mostly FWD until torque climbs, and then transfer power rearward.

Audi225TT can say that because he has no clue what he's talking about... As with most of his other threads....

why dont you just get a haldex? then make in a true 50/50? or even theorange haldex if you dont live in a snowy place... idk, i dont think its worth the time and effort unless you already have mods in your car and dont want to let it go. If your stock do a trade for a 225 FWD

Its blue or orange, and orange is track use only. Even a wet road could make things pretty scary if you needed to get on the brakes in a hurry.

I have the blue controller, and its def. nice, i'll say that. fixes SOME of the understeer, but I'm still on stock suspension, and old suspension at that, so I bet it would be friggen awesome if I had fresh suspension and aftermarket sway bars.

How is the haldex related to the brakes?

I want the blue Haldex controler for my car. I've done my suspension. I'm dying to drive this thing with a little more bias towards the rear.
