Default Wheel (mag) scrape repair?

I'm looking at a pre-owned TT that has an 18" high-performance wheelset. The mags are audi brand, with new Yokohama AVS Sport tires. I believe the mags are new too -- the car is Audi-certified preowned. However, one mag has a scrape about 5 inches along one edge (I think someone got to close to a curb). Can these kinds of things be repaired so that the affected edge is smooth again?

From what I understand it depends on how deep the scratches are and how much cash you have. If they are minor surface scratches I understand that some wet sanding and a polisher will pull them out. If the scratches are up to....I beleave 1/8 inch they can be brought out by a machinist, but at that point you are probabley spending as mush as you would for a new rim. ****Disclaimer: I have never tried this before, this is just what I understand from talking to people who have "supposedly" done it before. Use this information at your own risk. **** Good luck.
