Why Me?
So I was out patrollin last night. I was traveling on a small highway just getting of of a main street in a small town. I was going slow.... 40mph which was the speed limit. It was around 10pm and it was dark. There was a car in front of me and I was just cruising along. All of a sudden from what seemed to appear from beneath the car in front of me was a dead deer. The *!@#*!@* in front of me either had just hit this and kept going which I dont believe because he didnt swerve brake or anything. I think that dumb *@& just re-hit a dead deer and kept going. This left me no time to avoid nailing it. I hit it head on and the TT passed right over it with a small bump sound when it hit somewhere right behind the front bumper. Lucky for me this was a smaller sized deer. I got out and checked..... nothing seemed to be damaged. All I could see was a few more added scratches to the bottom section of the front bumper. No big deal I was planning on getting a new bumper anyway. So I continued on my way the car seemed to run fine. This morning I got under it (dont have a jack so i did my best) and the underbelly pan is definatly cracked and loose. I think it stripped a few screws holding that in place. There was also small pieces of deer fur hanging about. So now i need a new underbelly pan. I was amazed the bumper wasnt cracked. Do you think it did anymore damage? I was hosing off the underbelly pan and some oil came off..... Im taking it to a shop prbly tomorow to get it checked out. How much does a new underbelly pan cost? Wow I hate the guy who hit that deer and left it in the middle of the road. what an inconsiderate jerk. just when I almost had my TT looking and running like new..... countless hours of work and money for a teenage TT owner.
