Default Winter...

i have a FWD TT. It's already starting to snow in my area, and i'm hesitating on whether or not i should take it out. Can any one give me there opinion on FWD TT's in the snow? and does the ASR prevent me from slidingng, or what does it do for me?

Thanks

Its nothing, thats the sound of wheels sliding, instead of turning.

well today i drove from burlington vermont, to waterford maine all the way on route 2..which side passes mt washington.....it was snowing the whole time....and let me tell you i was surprised..i've only had my tt for about 4 months, and i was skeptical about the fwd in the snow..but i saved money on a car i really wanted so i figured wtf? anyways, i was on interstate 89..doing about 60..when i came up on a brand new accident...i stomped on the brakes..the abs kicked in...and kicked in..and i slid and slid..for about a quarter mile! i damn near ended up in the accident.. honked my horn and everything to get the people out of the way! what happened? does the abs just suck in these cars or what? i ended up stalling the car in a dead panic to slow down! it really makes me wonder about the brakes..
anywho...yes the car does do very well in the snow, i have a pair of conti summer tour tires on there..no money for winters...and i'm doing fine in the ****..but granted i've lived in maine 20 years and i'm used to driving the shittest of bald tires in about 6 inches of slush. overall..good performer, along side of the abs being wack!

Thats a big misconception about abs. They dont help you stop in a shorter distance. They help you maintain steering control in a panic stop situation on slick surfaces.

I just got my car yesterday and this morning i woke up to 6 inches on the ground.
for a sports car i'm impressed how well it does in snow.

DO NOT JUST SLAM ON THE BRAKES WITH FWD

YOu have to steer. The whole point of ABS is to give YOU control if your car in a situation with low traction. GAS + STEERING > ABS
