I don't do the bartering thing... offer low, and accept in the middle... I hate doing that.

Honestly, the best thing you can do -- for both of you -- is to offer him 2500, and let him know that if he accepts, the money will be in his hands within an hour of you getting the reply. A lot of guys would hmmm and haww over an offer like 2500... but if he understands that it will save him all the BS associated with selling something... he might just say "fu*k it" and take the quick sale.

2500 would be a SMOKIN' deal to add that kind of power to your car.

EDIT: and as for my envy correction... you can't really be envious of a car... unless you wished you could surrender your body and assume the cars place here on earth. You can be envious of apg for having the car, though.
