'01 1.8T Check Engine Light / Code P0420
Today the light came on, and I got the P0420 code from AutoZone.
Tomorrow I'll have the car looked at and the light re-set, but I'm wondering if there is one problem more likely than another.
According to the code, the choices are catalytic converter, or an 02 sensor, either in front of or behind the catalytic converter.
If it is a cat, will a low-restriction after-market cat have all the same sensor fittings as the OEM version?
I figure I'd go low-restriction for the same money if the cat's the problem, and if it doesn't otherwise alter anything in the exhaust system.
