Default 01 a4 1.8t engine code awm turbo not working?

I have a 01 1.8t quattro 5 speed, and i think i may have a vacuum or air leak,, first it normal for a whoooosshhhh noise to be coming from the left side (sounds like its near the inter-cooler area) when the turbo kicks in? I mean its pretty loud and my car is stock, and when im driving and i give gas and stay at a certain rpm like 3200rpm the car is lightly jerking back and forth like it has no power, but if i floor it itll pick up and go. Is there something wrong here? Or is it normal for the car?

I am actually having a similar problem as far as the car feeling like its losing power around 3200rpm, except mine happens in 2,3,4th gear at the same rpm. I noticed mine happening right after my MAFS was replaced. So between several peoples opinions, i've narrowed it down to this... A defective MAFS, need new coil packs, and my car was running a little high for fuel pressure, so need a new fuel pressure regulator. I have no idea if this is anything like yours, but sounded kinda similar. If I figure out what it is exactly that is causing mine to do this, ill hit you up.

Guess its almost safe to say that the MAFS is the problem? How did you clean it?

I took out the sensor, sprayed brake cleaner on it and then just blew air over it until it was dry.

But i also think i have a vacuum leak somewhere because i also replaced my air filter, and the previous owners never changed the air filters (they drove like 80k miles) on the same filter and after i put in a fresh clean filter and clean the box the car got louder with the whooosshhhh noise. Maybe its normal? I dont know honestly.

hmm... I've never actually attempted to clean mine before, but mine crapped out and I had it replaced with a "good" new one =/. At one point I gave up trying to figure out what was wrong, and one day I bit the bullet and brought it to Audi and they told me that a new MAFS has to be tuned to the car... I've never heard this before, and my normal mechanic told me that my car would self calibrate after about 15 minutes of driving. I don't know if Audi was full of BS to get money out of me, or what's the deal with that. I would love it if someone else had some input on that Audi opinion.

The woosh sound is from you car being able to breath again, and im pretty sure you are also hearing a bit of the DV.
