I have an 01' 1.8t AWM and I'm getting a persistent "lean condition on bank one" code with no boost. I'm trying to track down the issue but im having some problems. The car makes no boost 95% of the time with the CEL on but it will randomly boost for about 30seconds during normal driving then nothing again.

I've checked the DV and it seems to be in decent shape, checked all the vacuum lines to and from the N75 to see that they were in good shape, and checked lines to and from the FPR. Ive run out of ideas so I'm hoping you guys can help me out

Edit: I should add car is all stock automatic quattro

 

no boost tends to mean a vac leak... that can also be part of the reason for the lean code... i know i was having a lean condition and part of it was due to a bad maf


have you checked the vac line going to the egr and n80 valve?

that one is kind of hard to see, and can leak

 

no i haven't but I will check them tomorrow and report back

I checked the N80 and it seemed to be ok, I took it off and it doesn't leak if I blow through it and nothing came out of it. EGR vac line looks good as well, and I searched for other vac leaks but nothing came up. Ive read that the n80 should click a bit while running, it makes no noise at all, could this be a probem?
