I'm going to look at an '01 A4 1.8t auto with 35k mi. garage kept, 1 owner-elderly woman, and in perfect shape. I've never owned an audi before so is there anything I should check for? And will the auto trans handle any engine upgrades, you know bigger turbo, intercooler and such. Thanks

 

If I were you, request to see copies of the car's service records and where the car was serivced to see what the car has been through.

 

Get a CARFAX.

 

i'd say copies of service's done and carfax, but also if the car has 35,000 miles, it should be under the warranty still until 50,000 miles so take it to the dealer let them check on it

 

Take it to a audi car mechanic and have him inspect the car

 

def ask to c records or services oil changes stuff like that, make sure its up to date

 

look on the back where it says 1.8t if there is a red line in there its a 01.5 and i think it has 20 more horse. i also have auto trans and i think it is good for like 270 horse, but if u can drive stick i would get it if ur in it for the performance
