'01 A4 suddenly eating oil
My '01 A4 1.8TQM has 99k miles, been very well taken care of, properly maintained, and just plain babied since I purchased it new. All oil changes have been before schedule with high quality filters. I have always checked oil levels andthere has never been anyevidence of oil consumption until just recently. Compression checks show consistent highnumbers across all cylinders(did the check last week and forgot the numbers off-hand). To my amazement. it just started eating about 1 quart every 400 miles. There is evidence of oil in the intake plumbing. It isn't from the turbo because I just replaced it (upgradedto a K04 thinking that the old K03 was the problem). I'm confident that there is no piston ring seepage, as that would be a more gradual oil problem rather than an instant one like this.
Anyone else ever heard of a problem like this? Bad PCV?
Thanks

the compression shows that you dont have a ring problem. With oil in your intake shows you need to replace your pcv system andshould install a catch can. Not to mention drain your ic of oil and clean your TB.

Might not be a bad idea to replace the associated hoses as well - it's cheap enough to do and gets rid of oil-vapor-laden lines as well as the clogged valves themselves.
