I have a 2001 1.8t and I was driving to work the other day and the car started shaking and cel was flashing. Pulled off the highway and before I got to the end of the ramp the light was out and it was running great. Drove it home without an issue. Driving back to work the next day the light started flashing again and it was shaking again. Then stayed on soild and it drove great, I pulled the code at work and it was a p0301 cylinder one misfire. I looked at the coils and cylinder one and two looked pretty black so I replaced cylinder one, two, and all the spark plugs. Ran great for two days. Car was shaking again, barely got it home. With the car running I pulled coil one and no change in idle. pulled two, three and four seperately and could hear them firing. Swapped to an old coil on cylinder one and it fired for about 30 seconds then stopped. It seems to be intermittently sending the signal to fire, any help is appreciated!
