they must have had the year wrong cause theres no 01 passat motor that would bolt right into a 98. id still like pictures, but id look at the crank sensor as mentioned above. or any other sensor that is unhooked, and also ground connections. but i hear ya on the bell housing bolts. word of advice. the bottom three that are really hard to get at are not necessary and many guys run without them just fine

 

Another question I have is, can any relays or fuses cause this problem?

Problem solved, it was the crank sensor. I put a used one in and it fired up. ran like crap but fired. Got all the vacume leaks fixed and have been driving it everyday. Running great.

Has anyone ever heard of after filling up your car smoking for a few seconds then nothing till next fill?

 

im using 2000 vw passat 1.8t does nt have power to the fuel pump and injectors does not have power too,can u please help me
