Default 1.8t Resonator Delete

Hey, im thinking of removing the resonator from my 2001 a4, 1.8t. However, i still havent decided if i should od it or not. Will it give my car a nicer, deeper sound or will it just make it sound like one of those ricer fart cans? If anyone has done this please give me some advice on this. Thanks!

removing the resonator will not give you a deeper sound, but a magnaflow 14815 or 14816 (same muffler different tips) muffler will . there are many videos on youtube with people using that muffler

I'm running a 14816 un-resonated. It will up the sound and the throaty growl of your engine. It doesn't sound ricey to me, but I could see being criticized for that at some point. Most exhausts like Borla use a resonator, and that makes the car docile at lower RPMs and throaty at higher RPMs. So far I've had no issues with drone. I'd recommend my setup, just be aware it will be much louder and a few small weird things pop up like my vents rattle a tad while the rpms drop from 2400 to 2200.

if you remove the resonator and don't change the muffler it will sound like ****. i recommend changing just the muffler if you want some nice sound, and if you want some really loud sound then remove the resonator but still change the muffler

remove the resonator and replace the muffler and tips with a magnaflow. here is what mine sounds like without resonator and essentially no rear muffler. The muffler you see in the video is very cheap and only slightly muffles the sound. My friend has no res and magnaflow and it sounds amazing

its actually a splitter so it runs perfectly. I would highly recommend it. Its adjustable so I can change it from a silent DV thats quieter than stock all the way to an outrageous 90 percent BOV thats really loud.
