a 2871r will get you around 300 at the wheels. remember the numbers he posted in #1 are at the crank. figure 150hp or so drive train loss if you are all quattro, slightly less if you are FWD. glad to see someone used the search function as well.

yeah i have a quattro, but one major factor is mine is a tiptronic and im looking to run like 9 flats at the local 1/8th mile track, right now i have Giac chip, borla exhaust, testpipe, forge dv, and k&n intake. My lowest time to date is 10.27... so if that helps at all.. and im having the tip chip installed later this week. would the t3/t04e 50 trim be able to get me there?

Keep in mind that your tranny is NOT going to really be able to handle that much power.... you will probably have to rebuild it or you will have big problems later down the road.

its not that your automatic wont hold 300hp, it certainly wont like it but its not going to explode...for a little while. you will loose even more power from it though, the more power your engine makes the higher percentage will be lost in your transmission, and you cant launch - at all. slushboxes just suck when adding power.

Unless it's an S4 tranny

But even then you can't launch but it will hold Stg 3+ power as long as you don't beat on it every time you drive it.

But the A4 tip will only hold about 350 ft/lbs of torque. Thats what kills the tranny... the tq, not the Hp (unless it's really high)

i was just reading on audizine, not to go any bigger that k04 on automatic, even if i did that with pc-16, injectors, fmic, and afpr. with the pc-16 file would i still need tuning and would i be able to make mid 9's? (1/8th mile)
