Default 15 years with my B5.5

Almost 300k miles. I dont know exact mileage because my trans speed sensor failed on me once, I also had a trans go with a bad clutch, and I replaced the cluster due to the bad LCD screen like 9 years ago, so some of the miles were not reported... but if both clusters are accurate and I add up what I bought my second one with and what my original had i'm between 280-310K miles.

The car has been the best car I have ever owned. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, I had to work on it constantly. I had to solder wires, replace crappy suspension, do 3x wheel bearings, blew clutches (Taking out trans) went through tires 5-10x quicker then they were rated for, all my door handle covers and lower molding strips came off, broke two springs, lost both the drivers door lock and trunk lock within weeks of each other TWICE(Not chap from dealer), rigged the vacuum locks with a pump from a 94 passat, disable MAF and ABS, the list goes on.

In the end, no car has made me smile the way my B5 has. It still runs and drives, the engine is original and has not been rebuilt. Blow off Valves are FINE you dont need the DV like everyone argued about 10 years ago. Glad I didnt listen because I loved that sound all these years.

Im at a crossroads of restoring it, or parting it out and using the money towards another car. Illinois salty winters were not kind to my baby, But her story needed to be told. I love this car and I just know that Audi (nor anyone else) will never make cars like this again. Nowadays its all plastic, auto trans bullshit... and it will never go back... but at least I had this one car to remember. Been thinking about buying a clean one and putting my mods onto it but they got expensive over the years.

Long live the B5, long live mechanical engineering. **** this plastic intake manifold bullshit they have today. I wont buy it. I know they did, have, and could do better.

Anyway, been away for like 10 years. Missed you guys. You were a big help when I was a teen about many issues I had with it. Except the BOV, you must have been wrong about that because I doubt many of the DV enthusiasts still have working oringal engines at this point.
