1996 A4 Climate Control
Hi, I have a little issue with my climate control in my car. First off, the display comes on and off when it wants to. Secondly, the heat does not get hot, it only gets warm. I checked the hoses running into the heater core, and they were both very hot coming in and going out.
So, here are my questions:
1- I am buying a new (used) climate control unit to replace the one with the faulty display, will I be able to just put it in without any issues? I have read that they are programmable, and I would need a VAGCOM to do this. Just want to make sure I am prepared when the part gets here.
2- With the heat being low, could it be that someone has set it with a VAGCOM to be cooler than the indicated temperature? I can change from cool to hot, but it only gets lukewarm on HI. I can also hear the motor moving the flap, and when it is at the end, I hear it pulse, or move in increments, like 3-4 times. Could that be the motor making an after-adjustment, or is the motor itself going bad/stuck? Or could it be my climate control unit by itself doing this? It seems to work great except for the intermittent display.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
