1996 audi a4 ratchet shift

I have an extra husrt ratchet shifter that is a promatic 2. and im in the process of replacing the heater core in my audi. its an automatic and i was wondering if i could change that out.

hopefully i it would increase my shift time, plus i dont like automatics.
