Default 1998 A4 Trouble

Hello. Newish member here. Just recently bought a 1998 A4 Avant with the 2.8 and automatic transmission, and seem to be having an issue. I'm going to try to get it in to my mechanic this week but wanted to see if I could get any insight here. While driving it yesterday it shuttered once while going about 40mph. It was a very brief and minor shutter but my wife and I both felt it. Then today I took it out on the interstate, it drove great but when I came down the off ramp decelerating it shuttered again but it was very harsh this time, felt like a hard thud. Any ideas???

not sure what you mean or maybe i just don't understand the big words but have you checked the oil level and transmission fluid ? my dads automatic use to kick hard it was already low on transmission fluid. idk thats all i can think of.
