1998 Audi A4 Quattro v6 question
I was looking at a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro v6.. as I just totaled my old zx2. I'm a college student and don't have a lot of money to spend.
The car I'm looking at has 160,000 miles on it. Has anyone here with the v6 version made it past 160,000 miles on it? I can't afford to get a junker lol.
How is the reliability?
Thanks in advance.

RE: 1998 Audi A4 Quattro v6 question
I've seen tons for sale with 175K and more. Sellers claim they still run fine. Volkswagen/Audi unofficially says you can expect at least 200K from the V6s. Mines has only 107K, runs like new and burns/leaks/spirits away no oil.
If you can work on cars, the A4s are not t h a t expensive to maintain. Expect little things here and there with over 150. Little meaning from $25-300 if you or a friend can do the labor.

Two words: timing belt.....last done and can you see the receipts.

do you have a link for the car??? yeah what the guys above said is very true, i've heard ofa guy that reached 263K in his v6 passat which has the same engine!! i have the v6 and i can say that it's a very reliable car if you take care of it, any car is as reliable, as long as you service it and have everything kept up to date!
