Default 1999.5

I just figured out my a4 is the 1999.5 not 1999. The guy I bought it from just said it was a 1999. But after finding out there is a 1999.5 I looked into it and I have the fog lights and clear side marker. Aside form the body are there any differences? Is it still an AEB? Any other differences I should know about?

Thanks, Sheasta

Some differences I can think of off the top of my head are:

Exterior-
1-piece projector headlights
Foglights
Different side markers
Audi "football" emblem delete on front fenders
Different door handles
Driver side size mirror on passenger side
Badges are placed lower on the trunk
Older style taillights with orange (turn signals?) deleted, Red and white only

Interior-
Different gauge cluster (this varies all through the years though, I have a 99.5 with an analogue clock but I've seen some with digital, as well as some 99.5's have the LCD rather than individual lights)
Totally redesigned center console (99.5's had single din head units while 2000+ had double din)
I think there might be differences in the steering wheels offered also, although I'm not 100% on that.

I do not know about the 1.8t engine codes though. As far as the facelift goes regarding the 2.8 I believe the '96 and '97's came with the 12v V6 while the 98-01 came with a 30v V6. Don't quote me though.

99.5 came with all the facelift features but still had an AEB engine.

All good stuff few more points

- football emblems were only on 96s
- Any year of audi can either have dummy lights or the MFA screen in the cluster
- No steering wheel difference other than the difference between a 4 spoke and 3 spoke sport wheel

I have a question are all the b5 1-piece headlights projectors? i know they didn't offer xeons in 99.5 one piece but did in 2000-2001.

There's a nice list of some differences between years here. And you can find the differences between clusters here.

Nah, see the link below. My 97 has them and it looks like 98s did as well.
