Default 1999 a4 2.8 wont start after geting fuel

The check engine light came on the machanic said it was from the gas cap being off when i started the car and turn the light off. The car has real trouble starting after getting gas you have to feather the throtle a bit or it will die. The light came back on and I changed the gas cap hoping this would solve it. It starts like the injectors are bad but only after refueling and they have been replaced in the last 3 months please help.

It had 2 codes the first was

18010 P1602 power supply (B+) terminal 30:low voltage
which they said was nothing and the 2nd was

16839 P0455 evaporative emisson system: large leak detected

One tech said it was a vacum tube and the owner of the shop told me I started my car with the cap off no one even addressed the issue of my car not starting when i get gas. I dont know were I should go from here thanks for the help.

I have come across this and it seems to be the evap purge valves causing this problem

Where are they? How do you replace them? How much do they cost?

^+1 for problems after feuling. Mine has problems idling all the time right now, and after fueling it goes into limp mode occasionally. Restarting the engine clears the limp mode. Then I drove off and left the fuel cap at the station, so I guess I get to see if a new fuel cap helps! Interested to see a reply on the location of the evap valves. Is there a way to check them or just replace and see?

Any luck anyone on solving these codes. I have the p0455, p1136, p1138. I also have the issue of car having a hard start after refueling. Lets try to solve this people!! Contribute your knowledge and feedback. I'll be back with more info once I do some more checking by next week.

So this is what I have come up with on the to do list for this:

1) Check EVAP purge valve (by air filter)
2) Check purge canister (between rear wheels, under the car, at the round cover
3) Check for vacuum leaks
4) Check MAF sensor
5) Check fuel filter
6) Last resort, check Leak Detection Pump, but according to a bunch of individuals, replacing this did no good...unless if someone can say it did fix the problem for them, it is going to be the last resort thing

Anyone with any ideas and who has fixed this issue, would be greatly appreciated. No one reported back in the other forums on how they resolved their problem, and if they even did resolve the problem. Thanks !!!
