I know It's been a long time since you've originally posted this, but was wondering if you ever fixed it. I am having similar problem, just started two weeks ago. Always starts normal when cold, but if hot or not completely cooled down is usually hard to start, also will die if I don't keep on throttle. After starting I can sometimes smell fuel, not sure if this is from exhast or under hood, I have not done any trouble shooting yet, but think that evap purge valve is a good place to start. My car is '99 A6 2.8Q. Any help appreciated.

 

Same here. Very new to Audis and struggling to understand how to fix this thing.
