1999 starting issues
I had been having a bit of an issue for a while with my audi, the engine would turn over but would take a while to actually start. I just thought it was the cold air. Well saturday came around and when I turned the key, the car didn't start at all.
After a few seconds blue smoke started to come from the steering column. A few minutes after that the starter would go off every time you fully depressed the clutch.
Well my mechanic said he replaced the ignition switch, which wasnt hat big of an issue, but he thinks he saw the car act a bit funny when he took i on a test drive. He said it may also be a relay inside the car. The last thing he wants to replace is the starter.
Any suggestions?
Also is there any cheap fix for that ABS control module? I finally got that problem too and I'm getting really annoyed that theres no recall for this $2000 unit. I just spent that much replacing the damn rotors I have.

Def sounds like ignition related with that problem. Relay and the switch.
As far as the abs problem there should be a guy on ebay and on here I believe that you can send it in and get it repaired. Far less then $2 grand. I will see if I can dig it up.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.
And i was kind of having some issues with my blinker not working properly. So should I tell him its the relay? He had suggested that it might be the issue.
And with the bad weather finally over I'm sure I can just leave the abs alone till I get enough cash.
