2.8 5spd axle removal question

Default 2.8 5spd axle removal question

can anyone tell me what bit is used to unbolt the axle from the trans? its a splined bit, (T40 maybe?) i cant remember exactly the size though. i also cant seem to find the one i had... its def not a hex head though.

Should be an M8 triple square bit.

The axle bolts are XZN-type and require a 'triple-square' 8mm long reach tool. If there is any dirt of other foreign matter in the head of the bolt, be sure to clean it out so the tool fits correctly into the bolt head.

thanks guys. found it was an 8mm 12 point bit.
