It's pricey but if you need a full exhaust like I do it's an option. You probably won't get much if anything in the HP department but it should sound sweet as hell.

 

I'd only grip the coin for one if mine was rotted or wrecked. If it's for sound and style, just get a muffler, as it says in the sticky posts at the top of the forum.

 

Yup. I have a Thrush Welded muffler waiting in the trunk of my car. It's gonna get welded on with a resonator delete and eventually hi-flow cats. I'll eventually work my way to a full 2.5" system.

 

You know, I'm curious. What exactly is "thrush welded muffler"? I've seen you mention this a few times now, airguard, but I'm not sure of what it is.

 

if you wanted to spend the money i would go with Apexi or Greddy cat backs. sound great and you can feel the added power.

It's a two chamber muffler with welded baffles instead of fiberglass packing or anything else. Almost like a Flowmaster Delta 44 but not as loud. It offers better flow, lighter weight (at least versus the A4 stock unit), and a more aggresive tone.

Now what's the difference/advantage/disadvantage (if any) to that vs. a straight through muffler like the magnaflow 14815 or the Brüllen that I have?

 

When you get in to hi-flow mufflers the biggest difference is price and exhaust note. Some people swear by Flowmaster; others by Magnaflow. In my personal opinion, when you get in to expensive mufflers it's like buying a supercar. At some point your just paying for a name. One doesn't flow considerably better than another. My Thrush was $45 from Pep Boys. How much was your Brullen? (I don't know how to make umlauts)
