2.8 motor mating question

2.8 motor mating question
CAR: 97 a4 2.8 auto (engine code: afc)
i've tried looking everywhere for info on this topic and i can't find anything. Does the 2.8 aha motor mate up to the 2.8 afc auto tranny? obviously in doing this swap i'd need to change over the ecu... but i'm interested in doing this swap... considering the auto tranny was JUST rebuilt i'd prefer not to replace it... but how much more of a hassle would it be to swap over the aha quattro manual tranny into it? i know it'd cost a bit in labor, but i've got an audi mechanic friend of the family who does work for 25$ an hour.
i'm just curious as to the mods i'd have to make to the car if any to do either of these swap ideas.
