I have my doubts about a faulty temp sensor preventing a car from starting.

That said, OP: your name suggests you're a 1.8t guy, but you're questioning on a 2.8, which is it? Different engines, different diagnostic processes.

Now, is it not doing anything at all when you turn the key? Does it try to turn over but just chug? What do you mean by "it was driving funny"? Did it have a rough idle? Was it lurching? Any particular sounds associated? Any flashing lights? If there's a check engine light, find a way to get the codes read, that'll be most useful to us in helping you. It will also help us to, as previously stated, know which motor we're dealing with. If it is the 2.8 like the thread name says, what year is it? Is it automatic or manual? Frontrak or Quattro? How many miles?

like Crag said you need to give us more info on the car and definitely more info than no start and the car driving funny 2 days ago.
