Automatic 12V 2.8 is the way to go. Lots of performance parts available for it. Strip the car down to its bare bone. Low 8 second 1/4 mile.

I ran a BOV on my 01 1.8t for a while. I just got shitty gas milage, but it was ok. Really no point in doing it though. I ended up recircing it anyway.

Pat made the wrong decision by getting the 30V. Those are quick but there are no mods available for it, unlike the 12V brother.
