2000 1.8t a4 LOTS of problems

Default 2000 1.8t a4 LOTS of problems

Hey Im new to this forum but I have made a lot of research about my problems havent got a concrete answer for them

first, i have the crank but no start problem
but after about an hour it starts

then the car overheat really fast, after 10 minutes the needle is in the middle already and the hood is to hot to touch for more than 3 seconds

im getting horrible mpg, and the car also smell like gas sometimes

CEL is on also, and i need it working at the end of this week because im trading it for a civic si

if anyone can help please

Its supposed to be in the middle thats operating temp. Does it go above that? Misfiring? (shaky) got a scan tool? Whats the code for?

well yeah it goes to the middle, but i have had several cars before, and none of them that hot, codes I will check them tomorrow with a friend

and no its not shaky, steady idl rpm too

Yea. Is it a 1.8t? Ive noticed they run hot. Had mine about a month. Just did a thermostat on it and it stays right in the middle. (it was at 1/4 with thermostat partially stuck open). Probably gonna need to see codes to further assist you. Maybe you got 02 sensor issues. What did you do to fix the crank no start?

Wondering if the cat is clogged - that'd superheat the turbo and cause the hood to be hot (do you have the heat pad under the hood?), it'd explain the shitty mpg, and the choking back pressure could keep the car from starting...

yeah, ill see if i can post the codes tomorrow after school
whenever it wont start, i just let it be there for 30 minutes, but when im in a hurry I use a fast ignition fluid

yeah i have the heat pad, but it seems like it doesn't do a thing
and I have thought of the possibilities of the cat, because it decelerates quickly when i take the foot off the brake

I checked with the VAG COM
and the only code is p0441

can this cause all my problems?
