Default 2000 A4 Deep Humming Sound @ 2500-2800 RPM

I just started noticing some sort of deep humming sound coming from my engine when the car is only at about 2500-2800 RPM, no matter what gear. It sounds like this bored deep sound that only comes during those RPM levels. Really strange, and never heard it before, only now. My A4 (1.8T) is a 2000 with about 104K miles, but in overall good shape. Any thoughts?

Might be an exhaust resonance from something starting to fail...?

Its not the flex pipe, I actually had that fixed last year, and that noise was 1000x louder and more annoying. This is like a deep hung or ringing noise coming from under the hood somewhere when only between 2500-3000 RPM.

Could be, I wouldnt put anything past this 10 year old beast from failing. Though I just did have the car checked out by my old neighbor who is a VW Mechanic. He just replaced the coil springs, JV Boot, O2 Sensors, Dip Stick, Wheel Bearings, ABS Control Module, and Welded One of the brackets holding my tail pipe in place. And all that on top of new tires, brakes, the flex pipe fix, new battery, new Xenon Bulb replacement, new side mirror (auto-dim liquid bled through), and on/off working AC all in the last year. WOW im telling you 10 year old Audi's with 105K miles are not really good cars to own. If you can afford something else, which I cant, why would you put up with all these aches and pains for a 10 year old car anyway.
